You will know by now that we are fans of the Davanti tyre range, we are, after all, official Davanti dealers.
They make great value tyres!
So when they announced a new, high performance tyre designed to be class leading we were excited, if a little sceptical.
Davanti made decent quality, mid range tyres. Could they really make something, exciting??
We test everything we can, or ask for feedback from customers who try something new and that we may sell more of, so I ordered a set for myself, 245/45R18’s. I was replacing Michelin CrossClimate’s which I’d had on for a few months.
From an aesthetics point of view they looked great, neat sidewall and proper looking tread and a premium feel to the casing.
All very promising.
We duly fitted them and eventually the working day came to an end and I began my drive home.
A short drive from work there is a mile long stretch of dual carriageway, in the direction I was headed there is a sweeping curve to the right. The tyres felt good up to this point, it was a dry June afternoon, the road was clear so I thought “lets see how they feel”.
So I pressed on, and the tyres kept on asking for more until I felt like a hooligan!
But a hooligan with a huge grin. I have never known a tyre transform a vehicle in such a way.
Sort of on my way home, there is the notorious Cat and Fiddle road which joins Macclesfield to Buxton, and vice versa.
It is a cracking piece of road with lots of tight bends and stretches of straight, set in stunning scenery.
I decided this would be my ‘way home’.
The tyres performed impeccably, bearing in mind I am no Lewis Hamilton, my car is a family estate (although with an awful lot of torque), they had turned me into a hooligan!!
I have done a few thousand miles on them now, including a trip to and around Scotland. They have seen motorway and dust, sunshine and torrential rain.
They are brilliant!
We have fitted them on some of the locals with Focus ST’s, Mercedes AMG’s and they have all reported back positively.
These have probably been the first tyre we have actively encouraged people to drive with enthusiasm on, as we know just how good they are!
